"It was in the town of Gresham where lived two of Bethlehem's best men. They had traveled far and wide and after meeting Esther and Retty in whom they took much pride They decided to forever here abide."

The banner on the building refers to the Multnomah County Fairgrounds, which were located in Downtown Gresham from 1908 to 1969 at a site west of Main Avenue (the road visible in this photo).
