- Provenance
- Found in collections. William H. Gore was president of the Medford National Bank, a Republican Congressional representative for Douglas and Jackson counties, and a rancher and landowner in Southern Oregon. His wife Sophia Ish Gore, daughter of Jacob Ish, was at one time described as "the wealthiest lady in Southern Oregon." The Multnomah County Fair was held in Gresham from 1907 to 1969, and was a mainstay annual event in the area for much of that time. It was later moved to the Expo Center in North Portland, and then to the Historic Oak Parks.
