- Found in collections. William "Bill" Hessel Sr. was the son of John Charles Hessel (the elector registered in 2016.001.0027). He arrived in Gresham between 1908 and 1911, and ran a farm machinery store on Main Street, Hessel Implement Company, with his father. The company later became Hessel Motors, the first licensed Chrysler-Plymouth dealer in the state of Oregon. Hessel also founded the first Masonic lodge in Gresham.
