- Found in collections. John Charles Hessel arrived in Gresham in the early 1900s, opening a farm machinery business on Main Street just off of Powell in 1908 - the company was later known as Hessel Implement Company, or just Hessel's. He died in 1917. His son William "Bill" Hessel Sr. is the W.A. Hessel in 2016.001.0028.
