An honorable discharge certificate from Oregon National Guard issued to Sergeant Albert R. Heiney on November 3, 1912. Discharge was due to expiration of a one year term. On the back of the certificate is Heiney's record of service, which at that time went from 1896-1898, 1905-1912. A note on the back from Heiney's commanding officer, Captain Clarence [last name unclear] says "this man has been a most exemplary soldier his entire term of service."

Provenance: Found in collections. Heiney was a son of Joseph Heiney, an early settler in Multnomah County who owned a farm outside of Gresham.
