Looking East Down Powell Boulevard
by Blendl, Alex 1912
Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon, United States
Landscape-oriented photograph of downtown Gresham looking east down Powell Boulevard. A Bentley car in the center of the photo carries three men and a woman wearing a flowered or feathered hat. The vehicle is driving through the intersection of Powell and Main. On the left-hand side is a business sign for Dr. Belt. Down the block is Smith Land Co. Across the street, is J. Hessel's, a Justice of the Peace and a sign for Keene Cigars, along with a confectionery, bakery, and ice cream shop. A barber pole stands on the corner, with a man leaning against it. The Imperial Cafe is in the middle of the block, beneath signs for Furniture and a Public Hall. A donkey stands on the sidewalk just below the Imperial sign. A large awning covers the entrance to a building on the corner (far right hand side), with a man standing on the corner and another one resting on the sidewalk. There are also two men across the street, one on the corner and one walking east under the Smith Land Co. sign.
