- Provenance
- Found in collections. The Old Bethel Baptist Church building was constructed in 1884, and was purchased by the Gresham Historical Society in 1979 with the intention of restoring it to serve as a museum and wedding chapel. Bricks with donor names that would be placed in a brick wall outside the church were sold to raise funds for the restoration efforts, which remained incomplete when the church burned in 2004. The sketch artist may have been Howard Berg, a volunteer with the Historical Society.
