- Provenance
- Found in collections. The Multnomah County Fair was held in Gresham from 1907 to 1969, and was a mainstay annual event in the area for much of that time. It was later moved to the Expo Center in North Portland, and then to the Historic Oak Parks. J.M. Short was very likely Dr. Joseph M. Short, one of Gresham's earliest physicians. He worked in the Gresham area from 1899 to 1912 before relocating to Portland. He served as Gresham's mayor 1907-1908, and was known for employing the area's first Hispanic resident, Frank Escobar.
