Samuel Metzger House located at 200 W Powell, northwest corner of Miller & Powell (now site of Gresham Post Office). Group standing in front, from left: George Metzger, Rose Metzger, Minnie Metzger, Ben Rollins, Sarah Metzger, Sam Metzger, J. P. Powell, Jake Metzger.There is a dark colored dog in the lower right hand corner outside the fence. Also noted on back of photo: "Picture belongs to Mabel (?) G. Ferris, P.O. Box 36x (?), Gresham, Oregon." Secondary note on bottom of photo reads: "1983, Property of Virginia Christensen ..." (rest of note was cut off). Original courtesy of Virginia Christensen; thought to date to a 1983 donation. While date is listed as 1900, photo is thought to be 10-15 years older than that due to its similarity in style to other photos variously dated 1887 and 1892.
