- Gresham Grade School, sometimes referred to as "the White School House" was built in 1874 on Powell Valley Road. It was a two-story building used also as a church but the upstairs was unfinished. It burned down in a forest fire circa 1882 but was rebuilt at the site of the current West Gresham Grade School. In 1884 the "white schoolhouse" was listed as one of four public buildings when the post office was installed and named Gresham.
