- Provenance
- The Multnomah County Fair originated in 1907 as an agricultural fair organized by the Gresham Grange. The original location, on the bank of Johnson Creek behind the Grange Hall, was unsuitable for a fairground due to stumps and uneven ground; in 1908, the fair moved to a plot directly west of the Downtown Gresham business district. It occurred annually in the same location through 1969.
